I am currently doing the ARTP course and am finding it very informative. Not sure if this has already been discussed but yes tracings are an essential part of spirometry interpretation and part of the course asks you to submit several copies of tracings evidencing various respiratory problems. As OH practitioners we may not come across sufficient evidence in the time scale requested but the ARTP are quite happy for the student to draw graphs that represent different stages of obstruction etc. I know we don't do spirometry to diagnose but what I have learned helps me support my clients who may have other respiratory problems. The VC should be done, it can be an important indicator of COPD when compared with the FVC and knowing this information enhances the OH practitioners knowledge and ultimately support of their clients
