Open Doors Conference 2015
Wednesday 16th September, The Open University, Milton Keynes
In June 2014, the Leadership Alliance for the Care of Dying People<https://www.england.nhs.uk/ourwork/qual-clin-lead/lac/> (LACDP) published its final recommendations for the approach that organisations and staff should adopt when providing end of life care. This document One Chance to Get it Right<https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/323188/One_chance_to_get_it_right.pdf> focuses on achieving five priorities of care that make the dying person the focus of care. It stipulates that EoLC plans must be individualised and exemplify the high-level outcomes that must be delivered for every dying patient.
This one day conference will examine the impact of these recommendations and the issues and challenges facing organisations and staff delivering end of life care for patients with non-malignant conditions.
