Dear MCG-ers
Our latest V&A Digital Media post runs through how you can track and count how your users really use your navigational calls-to-action.
It has a simple example of how you can set up Google Analytics to measure if the result a player has in a game can affect their subsequent behaviour (spoiler alert - it can!)
We've kept it simple, but there is enough to see how you can make use of the same techniques yourselves. It can help you track almost any action and is great for knowing things about your individual service navigations and controls that standard tracking can't tell.
It covers Google Analytics Event Tracking using the relatively new Tag Manager tool. This has remote deployment, version control and user access management. The tags are also set up in a web console so only one change to live page templates is needed to get the tag in place.
