Site Librarian/Subject Librarian (Faculty of Science and Engineering)
Thornton Science Park, Ellesmere Port
(Fixed term until 31 Aug 2016)
Salary: £28,695 - £31,342 per annum

We require a Site Librarian/Subject Librarian to manage the staff and range of services (including IT helpdesk support) for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, located at Thornton Science Park near Ellesmere Port. You will collaborate with colleagues at our other University libraries and within the Faculty to provide a range of library and information services at Thornton site. You should have a Master’s degree, or be working towards one, with relevant professional qualifications. You should have relevant experience in an academic or special library. Experience of managing staff is essential. You should also have a background in customer care, and be proactive in change and project management. Excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to participate in meetings at a senior level, flexibility, and a capacity to work under pressure and to meet deadlines are also vital. A willingness to travel between sites is essential.
Subject Librarian (Faculty of Social Science)
(Fixed term until 31 Aug 2016)
Salary: £25,513 - £27,864 per annum

An enthusiastic individual is required to be responsible for the provision of library and information services to the faculty of Social Sciences. The role involves meeting the teaching, research and information needs of staff and students within based across the University. This post also involves managerial oversight for the University journals and document delivery service.
Degree and relevant professional qualifications are required together with experience at an appropriate level in a relevant setting.
Subject Librarian (Institute of Medicine)
Salary: £25,513 - £27,864 per annum

Assistant Subject Librarian (Institute of Medicine)
Salary: £20,198 - £22,029 per annum

An Assistant Subject Librarian is required to support the teaching, learning and research needs of the Institute of Medicine through the provision of quality library services, information retrieval and e-resource support. You will have either a degree or postgraduate qualification in librarianship/ information science. You will also have substantial library experience, including work carried out at a paraprofessional level. A flexible approach to work, close attention to detail and excellent communication and organisational skills are essential requirements of this role.
