Dear Fiona,
We have a variety of assistive equipment in our libraries. It includes:
- height-adjustable desks (manual and powered)
- ergonomic chairs
- standing work desks
- book rests
- two CCTV magnifiers (including a portable model)
- hands-free magnifiers
- selection of coloured filters
- daylight lamps
- scanning equipment in all libraries
There is also a selection of ergonomic mice and keyboards.
The equipment is available to all readers. If required we will give priority to disabled readers. Height-adjustable desks are popular with many readers due to their flexible height but also due to the generous desk space and single seat. More specialized equipment such as the CCTV magnifiers tends to be used by readers who declared a disability.
Please let me know if you would like any further information.
Best wishes,
Teresa Pedroso

Hello,
I asked this question earlier in the year but got no replies so I thought I would try again!
We are looking at upgrading our assistive equipment, what do you have in your Library? Would you recommend it, how much does it get used? How much training do you give to staff and students on how to use it?
Please reply to me directly. I will summarize replies for the list (if I get any) Thanks for time Fiona
