Following a recent reorganisation, we are currently advertising for two
permanent full-time management positions at the University of York Library
within the new Collections Services team.
*Access and Procurement Development Manager (Grade 7, Salary £37,394 -
£45,954)*
You will provide leadership for the Access and Procurement functional area
and, working with the Head of Collections, contribute to the overall
strategic priorities for Collections Services, Information Services and the
Information Directorate.
You will lead the development, maintenance and monitoring of resource
procurement and delivery, ensuring appropriate resources are provided in a
timely and cost effective way.
You will contribute to the management and supervision of the staff in
Collections Services and plays a leadership role in setting the culture and
standards for the Directorate.
This vacancy closes at midnight on 20th July, and interviews will be held
on 10th August.
*Collections Manager (Grade 6, Salary £30,434 to £37,394 per annum)*
This role sits within the Collection Development functional area of
Collections Services. Collection Development leads and manages the
development of collections strategy, delivering collections which underpin
the work of the teaching, learning and research community at York and
ensures that they are available for exploitation by the York community.
You will have particular responsibility for managing the creation and
supply of metadata, to maximise the discoverability of the University of
York collections. You will ensure agreed metadata standards are maintained
and work closely with colleagues within Collections Services, the
Information Directorate and the University, as well as with external
contacts, in order to give advice, guidance and support on metadata and
cataloguing issues.
You will also lead the Collections Operations team, which is responsible
for assigning staff to particular areas of work, in order to meet service
needs.
