Dear Friends,
I am very pleased to inform you that the University of Oregon has
established a new full-tuition scholarship for a student from Nepal. The
scholarship, to be awarded at either the undergraduate or graduate
level, was instituted both as a commitment to rebuilding Nepal after the
earthquake and as a reaffirmation of Eugene's unique sister city
relationship with Kathmandu. (As far as I know, Eugene is the only
American city with a sister city in Nepal.)
I have attached the University's announcement. Please circulate it
widely so that U of O gets the best possible pool of candidates.
Thanks and best,
Harvey Blustain, Chair
Eugene-Kathmandu Sister City Association
