A position is available for a highly motivated post-doctoral research
assistant/associate working on the regulation of photosynthesis gene
expression. The successful applicant will join Professor Julian
Hibberd's laboratory in the Department of Plant Sciences at the
University of Cambridge. The project will focus on understanding how
gene expression in different cell-types of the rice leaf is regulated,
and thus inform our understanding of how tissues from multicellular
eukaryotes function. Rice will be used as the model for this work, and
so findings will be relevant to one of the major crops of the world.
The position is available immediately. The successful candidate will
have a strong background in plant molecular biology, including a PhD in
a relevant area. Experience with synthetic biology, isolation of
specific cells or their organelles, and deep sequencing technologies
will be advantageous.
The funds for this post are available for 18 months in the first
instance. Please see http://www.jobs.cam.ac.uk/job/7753/ and also pass
this advert onto anyone in your institute who might be interested in it.
