Thanks Phil,
Yes, phone web use is creeping onwards and I think you are right, that it is at the expense of tablets.

Thanks for posting that Andrew.
It is clear from your graphics that the percentage of users viewing content
on mobile devices appears to be much the same this year as last year,
although with a shift from tablet to phone.
My guess is that as phones have acquired larger screens, increased
resolution and faster 4G connectivity, the tablet has simply lost its edge.
Thanks again, Phil

Dear All,
Friday quickie - I was recently asked about some pie charts of mobile access to the V&A I put out a year or two ago showing mobile trends and if the same trends were showing the same.
Here's a short post on what I found when I checked earlier today.
http://www.vam.ac.uk/blog/digital-media/mobile-and-tablet-access-trends
It that shows the mobile/tablet/desktop traffic breakdown trends for 2012 - 2015
The data tells us that...
* Mobile breakdown is still different on different types of content (visitor information sessions much higher than site average)
* For traffic averaged on all pages it has grown to about a quarter
* On visits with a visitor information page it's now about a third of all traffic
* Desktop access is now in the minority on visitor information sessions (about 48% - rest is mobile/tablet)
* Tablet access appears to have peaked in 2014.
There's a quick bit on how to look up this data on your own site.
enjoy
