Dear Colleagues,
The next event in ARA's popular Core Training programme will be Data Protection running in Manchester on Wednesday 16th September.
This course is aimed at archivists and other information management professionals who want to know and learn more about data protection.
The morning session will include an informative introduction to the subject; considering the 8 principles of the legislation and the role of the Information Commissioner’s Office with example breaches. On registering for the course, delegates will be invited to submit a data protection query. Some of these queries will be used as the basis of a workshop activity at the start of the afternoon. Later on, 2 of our speakers will talk about the creation and implementation of an access policy and our final speaker will focus on research agreements at universities.
