Project Archive Assistant
£17.5k Fixed Term contract for 1 year
Nottingham
Boots is one of the oldest and best known retail names on the British high street, with a history spanning over 165 years. The company archive manages the creation and maintenance of our corporate memory and our archive team provides a full records management and archive service to the company. The team are looking to open up the collection with the help of a Wellcome Trust Research Resources grant which will enable us to transform our internally focussed service into an international academic resource and we are now seeking an enthusiastic Archive Assistant to help us with the first phase of the project.
Using CALM, you will help us review and cleanse recently migrated data from a previous database by identifying information within key fields and manually extract and re-enter into the appropriate fields, following in-house guidelines. You will also be required to support the Project Archivist with some basic archive preservation tasks. You may also be required to conduct research for administrative history entries on the catalogue.
The post holder should be a graduate with a view to pursuing a career in archives.
This is an excellent opportunity to help us improve access to a varied and established archive collection and to create an active research facility.
