Yes, i’m partly thinking of that, and also how much it is worth us having a Functions box for cataloguers to use when we are not likely to end up with consistent terms, that enable researchers to draw archives together through function. There’s also the fundamental issue that we’d probably have very few functions entered into the data, so a search by Function would exclude most of our descriptions.

That’s interesting - maybe that’s an argument for us leaving it in for now, and seeing what happens with EGAD.
