I'll break my silence to concur with this. It expresses a deep and basic
human desire, and one that is much stronger, I believe, than that which
urges us to pass on something to our offspring, which Gideon (George
Osborne is Gideon George) justifies. Passing on gifts to our children may
be basic but not so basic, surely, as begetting and as hurting our enemies
so they can hurt us no more.
I am happy to leave the deed to you - I am still grieving that we do not
have a hanged parliament - but I might well feel better after hearing about
it.
