Hi all
I am a registered nurse (qualified in 2011) and have been continuously working since then in several different environments. Ever since my training I have wanted to specialise into Occupational Health Nursing but I am really struggling to get anywhere due to not being able to obtain any experience in the field. I have had to defer entry to the OH degree at Robert Gordon University (Aberdeen) twice now due to not being able to secure any experience. I am therefore asking if it would be possible for me to get any experience/shadowing so that when the course opens again for applicants I will be able to produce a portfolio of experience. I am willing to travel. I live in Elgin but I am very willing to travel to Aberdeen/Inverness for any experience that anyone can offer. I would also be very willing to sign a confidentiality form to undertake shadowing/experience.
I am a practice nurse at present and am proficient in several skills that are within the OH remit. I have recently done a course in spirometry and I have attended the TREC travel health course earlier this year.
Any help or opportunities that anyone can offer would be very much appreciated
Many thanks for your time
Kindest regards
Stephanie Lindsay
