Hi David !
Thanks for the prompt answer, but this is a different issues. The certificates which are issued by LIGO are NOT accepted by the wLCG Grid and are NOT recognized by EUGridPMA. That is the problem. Those are only useful for internal LIGO Data Grid usage.
Gergely

Hi Gergely,
LIGO-Virgo provides details on applying for certificates at:

Subject: [LCG-ROLLOUT] Certificate for non-CERN member from the University of Florida (UF)
Dear Colleagues,
I have the following question. We have a student from University of Florida (UF) who would like to use the Grid for LIGO - Virgo data analysis. Since he is not a CERN member and not from Europe we cannot 'give' him a certificate.
My question is: Which CA he should apply for a certificate ?
The links are on this page are outdated and broken and it is not clear what to do in his case.
https://www.eugridpma.org/members/worldmap/
Is there any operating 'catch-all CA' for these cases ?
Thanks a lot for your quick help !
Gergely
