Interesting in light of this analysis from the States: http://mfeldstein.com/blackboard-ultra-and-other-product-and-company-updates/

And, of course, the reports of Providence Equity looking to sell Blackboard.

Hi all

Has anyone heard anything more about the likely availability of recording in Collaborate Ultra? I’ve tweeted a question a few mins ago, but not response yet.

I’ve got the impression from Blackboard it’s a few weeks off, but am chomping at the bit to get this tested and installed for mid Sep, so a few days extra time to test would be really useful to me.

Any thoughts on that date people?

Many thanks and very kindest regards,

David

Yes indeed, Martin – thanks. And I found out that recently new customers have been put onto the European centre whereas us old lags were somewhat overlooked and left on the Canadian server. Anne Cross is now on the case to get us relocated to Europe – but the bad news is any recordings have to be ported manually. Sigh, why is technology never as perfect as in the universe of Star Trek………? Oh yes, it’s only 2015!

EU1 (europe) servers that serve Collab SAS were upgraded to allow Collab Ultra a couple of weeks ago – you still have to log a call to get it enabled for your own institution (there is an item in the case drop down just for this)

We have it enabled and on for us – all works as expected

Important to realise there is no building block at the moment so it is a SAS only tool (you create the sessions then email out the links) until the block comes out and no app so its desktop and laptop only

Be warned that, really, Chrome is the only browser that works properly with Collab Ultra – firefox and safari do their best but its flaky, and also that Collab Ultra is not feature-rich atm – more features will be added over the next months and year but no recording, breakout rooms or polling (chat, video audo shared whiteboard and applications all OK)

Yep – I saw reference to it on help pages and got excited. Despite being told it would be available by end of May, I must have got my wires crossed, and Canadian hosting for Collab Ultra is not yet available. Trying to get ahead of the curve what with our impending upgrade and release of new year shells.

I thought whilst Collaborate 2015 is available to all users except those hosted in Canada (sadly us) the integration with Learn will not be available until Summer.

Many Thanks

Has anybody yet endeavoured to get the new version of Collaborate integrated into their Bb?
