East Dunbartonshire’s War: Volunteer and Event Co-ordinator
An opportunity has arisen for a Volunteer and Event Co-ordinator as part of the ‘East Dunbartonshire’s War’ project.
Specific tasks will include:
• Work with local heritage groups, schools and volunteers to organise a series of community events to explore the impact of the First World War on the East Dunbartonshire area.
• Support and use volunteers to extend the breadth of the material available to the project
• Promote the project by preparing press releases, delivering presentations and using social media
• Design appropriate evaluation tools for activities and events
• Produce evaluation and progress reports as required
• Share the products of the East Dunbartonshire's War project with a wider audience by setting up and writing content for online platforms, assessing which ones will be most appropriate for this project
Candidates must be reliable and organised, with a proven track record of managing events and volunteers, plus experience of working in the archives/heritage/library sector, and writing content for web/social media.
Opportunities will be on a flexible freelance working pattern.
The project must be completed by Feb 2016 to comply with funders deadlines. The fee is £8,100 for 40 days work.
Candidates are required to be current members of PVG scheme.
