Hi All,

I'm new to this list, happy to discuss the kind of thing we do here in my
dept. at Salford. We support our students a great deal - in fact they
nominated us for a student award because of it this year. We regularly
get cards saying how they 'couldn't have got through the course without
us' and 'we have learned more from you than any of our tutors'. Now I
doubt this latter aspect quite a bit, but I guess the big topic of debate
in our team is where the line is drawn between 'demonstration' and
'teaching'. It seems a very grey area.

Hope you're all having a good summer so far!

Thanks,
Luke
