Is there a difference between temporal (low-pass) filtering and temporal smoothing, or are they interchangeable?
If there are indeed effectively the same, how can I determine the FWHM Gaussian filter to use (usually between 2.8s to 6s it seems)? Does it depend on the TR? In this case, I'm working on resting state functional connectivity with a TR of 2.2s.
Would greatly appreciate any form of help or clarification!
