Dear all,
Please see below an update regarding the OpenAIRE2020 Project.
Since January 2015 Jisc has been participating in the EU-funded OpenAIRE2020 project.
OpenAIRE is an open and sustainable scholarly communication infrastructure in Europe and promotes the discoverability and reuse of research results, across scientific disciplines and thematic domains.
The OpenAIRE 2020 project will continue, extend and intensify the activities of the existing OpenAIRE infrastructure but it will also provide support and services to enable compliance with the Horizon 2020 Open Access policy to scientific publications.
Jisc now acts as the UK National Open Access Desk
(NOAD) (https://goo.gl/jzHWJn) and will provide information and advice to HEIs, research libraries, research managers, project coordinators and researchers on the Horizon 2020 Open Access policy, the Open Research Data Pilot (https://www.openaire.eu/horizon-2020-open-data-pilot-factsheet/docume
nt-details)and the FP7 Post-Grant Gold Open Access Pilot.
Compliance with the Horizon 2020 Open Access policy to scientific publications is a requirement for all Horizon 2020 funded projects. A pilot on Open Research Data Pilot is being run in Horizon 2020 which aims to improve and maximise access to and re-use of research data generated by projects participating in 7 core areas of Horizon 2020. In addition, an OpenAIRE pilot has just been launched wherein funds are disbursed to enable Gold Open Access publications for research articles, book chapters and conference proceedings from completed FP7 projects.
As the UK National Open Access Desk (NOAD), Jisc will be contacting research libraries, research managers, open access contact points and EU research, policy and funding teams in July 2015 and Horizon 2020 project coordinators and researchers in September 2015. Jisc will provide them with detailed information and support on the Horizon 2020 Open Access policy requirements and guidance on how to take part in the Horizon 2020 Open Research Data Pilot and the FP7 Post-Grant Gold Open Access Pilot.
Any queries that the members of your networks have can be sent via email to the National Open Access Desk (NOAD) on [log in to unmask] .
Kind regards,
Mafalda Picarra
