Dear all,
We are planning to update the library cards we provide for External Members, Staff and Associates at Canterbury Christ Church University.
I am looking at what type of cards other Academic libraries supply to these types of users. For members who do not qualify for smart cards we currently provide a small, debit-card sized cardboard card with a barcode on the back, and are looking to upgrade to something more professional looking.
I would be grateful if you could let me know what type of cards you use, specifically:
a) Do your cards differentiate between different types of members?
b) What material is the card made of and how are they made? What are the cost implications of this?
c) Does the card include a photo? If so how does work e.g. is the photo supplied by email or as a physical copy?
d) Does the card have a design/artwork/a brand logo –i.e. how does it look visually?
e) Is the card made in house and if so do you use a special machine for it?
Thank you very much for your assistance. I am happy to summarize responses if required.
Best wishes
Angela
