Everyone is welcome to join CILIP LIHG and CILIP Thames Valley on their tour of three Oxford College Libraries on 20 July!
Tour of Oxford College libraries
Date & Time:
Monday, 20 July 2015 - 2:00pm to 4:30pm
Join the CILIP Library & Information History Group and CILIP Thames Valley for a unique opportunity to visit three very different historic Oxford College libraries, starting at Queen's College.
The splendid 17th-century Upper Library at Queen's College, which was recently refurbished.
The medieval Old Library at Magdalen College, where visitors will also have the opportunity to see the current exhibition Ex Libris: What Can Books Tell Us About Their Owners?
The 1930s library of St Hilda's College, one of former women's colleges, where the galleried main reading room looks out over the River Cherwell and the dreaming spires of central Oxford.
At each library, there will be a guided tour and a talk about the history of the library by one of the librarians.
Everyone is welcome to attend the tour, but booking is essential. Please book by Thursday 16 July to reserve your place.
