John Calder has a barely one liner on the Librarian of Sheffird City who took to the stand in the magistrates court 1964 in defence of a book siezed by the police.
The book was to be destroyed, but only in Sheffield.
Had I known of this in 1973 I might have taken a completely different view of library practice. How many other like stories are there? The Glasgow librarian on the Pink Paper will not count.
