Sheila,
I presume this is not the problem here but we've had the odd instance where Adobe Professional required an update. Until that step was done the downloading of PDFs often stalled for the member of staff.
Kind regards,

This could possibly be the same problem we were experiencing here, which one of our IT guys finally figured out. What was happening here is that whenever someone downloaded an e-book that required Adobe Digital Editions, they either wouldn't be able to, or more commonly, they wouldn't be able to turn any pages once it was downloaded. The problem ended up having to do with "the Intel graphics driver causing interference with Adobe Digital Editions." Once a person's computer had their Intel graphics driver updated and the most recent version of Adobe Digital Editions installed, everything was okay again.
I hope that helps!

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Problems with pdf opening in new window for ebooks
We have been experiencing problems with getting pdfs to display using IE and Adobe XI for DawsonEra, Knovel and EbscoHost ebooks and wondered if anyone else has been experiencing this problem and found a solution. We either get a blank page when we try to read online or get only one page displaying in the browser. Using Firefox we do not have this problem and also do not have the problem for other ebook suppliers. We should be grateful for any advice that anyone who has experienced this problem and found a solution can offer.
Many thanks for your help and apologies for cross-posting.
