Description: Curtin University is strengthening its capabilities as a research-intensive university by attracting and retaining iconic scholars to undertake leading research in areas of global significance. Curtin’s School of Media, Culture and Creative Arts is committed to excellence in teaching and research, as demonstrated by its high ranking of four for cultural studies in the Excellence in Research for Australia scale.
As Professor, your role will be to provide outstanding leadership in research and scholarship in cultural studies and/or literary theory, critical theory, literary studies and writing. In this research-intensive position, your focus will be on publishing and applied research activities, income generation and mentoring staff. Your contribution to the school’s focus on high-quality research output will ensure the continued consolidation and expansion of Curtin’s cultural studies program, and its profile internationally. It is essential that you have a fresh, exciting vision for research leadership, commensurate with a research ambitious university.
You will hold a relevant doctoral qualification and have an international reputation as an accomplished scholar, combining an outstanding record of publications and citations with demonstrated success in attracting research income through competitive grants and/or fellowships. Extensive experience in supervising postgraduate research students, mentoring staff and promoting inter-disciplinary collaboration are essential.
Benefits and Remuneration: The salary ranges presented are those which are contained within the University's Enterprise Agreements; as are the employee benefits which include employer superannuation contribution at the rate of the current Government Superannuation Guarantee amount up to 17 percent, study assistance, a comprehensive salary packaging and wellness programs and flexible and family friendly work practices.
