ARA Scotland is Thinking Outside the Box for our next conference! Save the date!
Spread over two days, each a week a part, we are going to be looking at exhibitions using archives. The first day will be held in the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Research Collections, on Friday 31st July. We will take a look at exhibitions from a conservation perspective and look at the issues surrounding conservation of exhibition items. The second day, which begins in the Museum on the Mound in Edinburgh, on Friday 7th August, will look at exhibitions from an archival point of view. Both days are suited to archivists and conservators, so feel free to come to both!
The conference includes a range of speakers, tours, workshops and practical demonstrations. The conservation day includes a tour of the conservation studio at the University of Edinburgh and their exhibition areas. The archive day includes a tour of the award-winning Museum on the Mound and some words about the dome at the National Records of Scotland.
