Dear All
Thank you to everyone who replied to my questions regarding resits and charges. I know some of you were interested in the receiving the results, so I've attached them.
I would still be interested to receive replies from anyone who didn't have chance to reply to my original email.
Many thanks
Best wishes
Stephanie

Subject: Resit Application and Charges
Dear All
At Leeds we are currently reviewing our procedures for charging students for their resits. Currently students apply online for the modules they want to resit and then they are sent an invoice for the fee later. The fee goes onto their university account and they are not required to pay it before the resits take place. We've always had problems with some students failing to settle their bill so we are considering whether to require students to pay before they take the resit.
I know from a recent poll that Joanne Moles carried out that not all Universities charge for resits. For those of you who do I would be interested to hear what your charging practices are.
Do students have to apply/register for their resits?
Do they pay at the time of applying or can they pay later?
If they can pay later, are they required to have paid the fee before the resits take place?
If the answer to the above is yes - do you prevent students who haven't paid from taking the resit?
Many thanks for your help
Stephanie
