We would like to invite network members and readers of Anthropology in Action to submit an expression of interest for the Reviews Editor role. We are keen to hear from people who are actively engaged with 'anthropology in action', whether you work in a university or other setting or are a postgraduate student.
Key activities of the reviews editor are:
- Notify relevant publishers of the journal focus and scope, and keep in contact with them regarding books for review that fit this well.
- Identify other areas for interesting reviews such as websites, films, events, etc. and arrange reviews of these
- Update list of books (or other media) for review for each journal issue and for the network website
- Respond to offers and requests for reviewing, but also proactively contact potential reviewers for relevant and topical books, media or events
- Check the reviews submitted, editing where needed and send reminders to reviewers when needed
- Keep straightforward records of books received, sent out and reviews received
- Send a copy of reviews to relevant publishers or producers after each issue
If you are interested in the role please send me a short Expression of Interest (about 500) words explaining why you are interested in the role and your ideas for it, plus a copy of your CV, by the end of June 2015. Please email this to me: [log in to unmask]
