CK Clinical are working on behalf of a healthcare company based in Leeds in the search for a Statistician for an initial 6 month contract.
Role Purpose:
To prepare and analyse patient-level longitudinal data according to a statistical analysis plan (SAP), to report results in tabular, graphical or descriptive form and to contribute to designing epidemiological studies using retrospective databases.
Principal Accountabilities:
Contribute to all stages of retrospective database studies, under the supervision of a Senior Statistician, including:
• Design
o Collaborate with study epidemiologist on choosing appropriate study design required to meet study objectives
o Identify appropriate analysis strategy to meet the study objectives
o Contribute to writing of statistical analysis sections of study proposals
o Write SAPs, sample size calculations, specify table shells and figures as required
• Data preparation and analysis
o Extract data from databases using SQL and write SQL/SAS code to
prepare analysis datasets
analyse data according to study protocol or SAPs
• Reporting
o Write up and present results of statistical analysis appropriate for the intended audience
• Publication and dissemination
o Assist in the dissemination of findings through articles, posters and presentations
Analysts are expected to develop knowledge of consulting methodology through delivery of engagements and participation in learning opportunities, both formal and informal.
Minimum Education, Experience, & Specialized Knowledge Required:
Master’s degree in medical statistics or biostatistics.
Technical knowledge/skills include:
Study design, multivariable analysis, regression analysis –including methods appropriate for correlated data, survival analysis, sampling, and knowledge of SAS programming languages.
Knowledge of SQL programming is essential.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines, detail oriented with a high regard for quality control and testing. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
