Hi All
If people are experiencing any specific issues relating to the EQA samples, can they please contact the office so that we can undertake a full investigation and maybe discuss the issue with the relevant instrument manufacturer. Please also note that the current plan is to move to a modified sample type in October.
Many thanks

Subject: Re: Blood Gas EQA issues
Hi
We are also having problems here at Nottingham with WEQAS EQA and glucose measurement on the ABL90. As soon as you test the EQA samples the glucose goes out of calibration and the analyser brings up an error which states recommend sensor replacement. It takes about 5 calibrations to get it back into the range. This distribution has been the worst and it has happened 6 out of 9 analysers.
We have flagged it to WEQAS who suggested it may be the recent software upgrade that we have had. We still have a few analysers that have not had this 3.1MR3 upgrade and we are going to run the EQA on these analysers to see if this is it. It could be sensor lot number dependant as well.
I will update you if we have any more news.
Thanks
Ann Marie

Theresa,
We IL Gem 4000's here and I have noticed for a while the pO2 often goes to fixing after running the WEQAS co-oximetry samples.

Theresa, we don't have the ABL90, we use Roche Cobas b123s and are also having calibration issues with Glucose & PO2 after running the WEQAS Co-Ox EQA samples.
Kind Regards

Can I ask if anybody else is having issues with glucose after running WEQAS co-ox EQA on the ABL90?
Many thanks,
