Hiya
Our EAU is trialling the Nova meter at the moment as part of the Sepsis pathway. They have only been using it for a week so I haven't got anything to feedback at the moment.
Kind Regards
Sharon

Hi,
As far as I know Nova is the only company providing a lactate POCT meter for clinical use that includes sepsis.
Roche say "If the Accutrend Plus meter is to be used on patients with suspected or confirmed infection this is against our guidelines so the meter would not be fit for your purpose"
The Nova meter requires fresh arterial or venous whole blood - serum, plasma & capillary blood are all unsuitable.
Kind regards
Helen

Subject: Lactate POCT
Hi all,
I have just been approached by an anaesthetist, who is enquiring about POCT lactate devices. Does anyone out there use lactate POCT? What do people recommend and are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?
Many thanks for your help (as usual).
