Abstract
The objective of the federal state government is to make Baden-Württemberg a pioneer region for sustainable mobility in a modern business hub. An integrated transport policy will make a relevant contribution to climate protection objectives to reduce greenhouse gases by 40% by 2020. We want to noticeably increase environmentally-friendly mobility without losing sight of the objective that it has to remain affordable for everyone.
In addition to rail transport, road traffic will continue to be of importance. It should be as environmentally friendly as possible, socially sustainable, conserve resources and protect the climate. Reducing consumption and adding new drive technologies and forms of regenerative energy are key. The sustainable base for industry and services of Baden-Württemberg, where the vehicle industry is of major importance needs high-quality transport infrastructure. In order to secure widespread mobility, we will strengthen bus and train provision within the whole federal state by improving and expanding transportation and making it more attractive.
