Hi Adel,
Best practice is to assess level of risk to the business by definition of role/ hazards and agree a suitable drivers screening program with relevant persons in the workplace.
3 - 5 yearly medicals seem to be the general periodicity I have experienced and as the assessments tend to involve vision, BP and urine to check for diabetes (although some may argue not necessary as the DVLA don’t request this for D4 medicals).
I'm sure everyone has their own opinions on best practice however if you stick to DVLA medical standards for group 1 (low hazard) or 2 higher hazard / risk jobs /drivers you can't go far wrong.
Regards
Janet

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Driver questionnaires / reviews
Hello,
Hope everyone is well.
Hoping for some advice please, we currently have a LGV / Van driver questionnaire which we have employees complete when they join the buisness which is then filed away in OH records. We dont do anything with it then such as a review, would anyone recommend that there is such a review process in place? Even if this is in-line with the DVLA guidelines, more so for good practice as opposed to a legal requirement.
Please nore am not referring to the HGV medicals that a GP woud do, this is in relation to van drivers etc.
Would anyne be willing to share what they do?
We have something similare for MHE operators but these are reviewed 3 yearly until the employee reaches a certain age.
Many thanks
