Dear colleagues
The Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences is making a pilot 'Virtual
Collection' based on the collection of the Renaissance artist and
naturalist Agostino Scilla (1629-1700). We are seeking detailed
proposals and a quotation from interested developers.
The Sedgwick Museum is the departmental museum of the Department of
Earth Sciences, University of Cambridge. The Museum is founded on the
collection of 9,400 rocks, minerals, fossils and archaeological
artefacts bequeathed to the University of Cambridge by Dr John Woodward
in 1728. Today the Museum holds about 2 million specimens across 5 major
‘departments’ (essentially collections) Palaeontology, Petrology,
Mineralogy, Building Stones and the ‘Woodwardian Collection’.
The Sedgwick Museum 'Virtual Scilla Collection' project is funded
through the Designation Development Fund. It is supported using public
funding by Arts Council England.
Submission of detailed proposals and accompanying quote to be received
via email by 5pm 12/06/15 at [log in to unmask] and should be
titled ‘Sedgwick Museum Virtual Scilla Collection quote’
