No figure in Australian feminism has been as influential or as exciting as Germaine Greer. The recent opening of her archive at the University of Melbourne has only heightened interest in research and reflection on her life and career. Australian Feminist Studies (Routledge/Taylor & Francis) plans to publish a themed journal issue focusing on Germaine Greer in 2016.
AFS is seeking contributions in the form of original articles (up to 8,000 wds) that offer new insights on any aspect of Greer’s writing or her career. We would particularly welcome submissions focusing on:
• newly available archival sources
• Greer as publisher and literary scholar
• Greer as auto/biographer
• reflections on Greer’s career in journalism and/or television
• Greer as feminist fashion icon
• Greer in/and the media
• Greer as environmental activist
Shorter thematic pieces (up to 5,000 wds) may be considered for the journal’s Feminist Debates and Reflections section.
Abstracts (500 wds) should be submitted by 15 June 2015 with accepted articles due 15 November 2015. Inquiries and submissions can be sent to [log in to unmask]
Submissions should be formatted according to the journal’s house style. All submissions will be peer-reviewed as per the journal’s policy.
