*Electronic Resources Librarian (HEEoE regional post hosted by Norfolk and
Suffolk NHS Foundation trust)*
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced
professional Librarian to manage and promote our collection of electronic
resources and services to NHS staff across the East of England.
Working in conjunction with the Health Education East of England (HEEoE)
Health Libraries Network and the Professional Advisor, Library & Knowledge
Services, the successful candidate will have responsibility for:
- Managing development work to increase the potential of the region-wide
SirsiDynix Symphony library management system and maximise its functionality
- Maintaining and coordinating web-based access to national, regional
and local e-resources collections for end users
- Contributing to the marketing and promotion of resources and services
utilising web and mobile technologies
- Evaluating print based and electronic resources and services, making
recommendations for purchases based on research and consultation when funds
allow
- Leading the management and development of the access management system
and link resolver systems
The successful candidate will have a professional, or postgraduate library
qualification, and at least four years’ experience of working in health or
academic libraries. They will possess experience of access management
(Athens) and Link Resolver administration and have expertise of working
with various health care bibliographic databases (Medline, Embase etc.)
Detailed in-depth knowledge of library management systems is an essential
requirement as are excellent IT skills including MS Office and Web
management.
This is initially a 12 month fixed term post with the possibility of
extension subject to continued funding.
