Hello
If at some time it becomes possible to include some kind of summary of major annual changes in the Toolkit's update information, perhaps this could be included in the print issue as a foreword? And/or a list of recommended free sites and lists for update-related and training resources?
But I wonder whether there are some agencies which cannot even afford to get the print update every year. If so, we really are looking at a gulf between biggish players and the rest, as Heather fears.
By the way, we manage with a very low number of Toolkit subscriptions for our large (200?) number of affiliated cataloguers, because we depend mainly on local documentation which is not mounted in the Toolkit. This is both because of budget constraints and because many of our affiliated cataloguers are multi-skilled, doing all the work of a college library or similar, so actually do very little cataloguing. The size of the Toolkit and the fact that it is not geared to MARC make it awkward for occasional cataloguers - for instance, the introduction of initial articles into examples of AAPs could be confusing.
Best wishes,
Bernadette

Subject: [CIG-E-FORUM] RDA in Print - update
Hi,
A couple of people have asked when the printed RDA will be updated. The publishers are planning to issue the 2015 revision this summer, probably in July.
kind regards,
Alan
