The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) is looking for a
Biostatistician
The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) in Amsterdam is a comprehensive
cancer center combining a hospital and research laboratories in a
single independent organization. At the Biometrics department,
national and international clinical studies are being developed and
conducted in a team of clinicians, colleague statisticians,
statistical programmers, and data managers.
As a statistician you are primarily responsible for the design of
clinical trials, preparation of statistical analysis sections of
protocols, writing of statistical analysis plans, performing analyses
and reporting of results, which includes preparation of
manuscripts. In addition, you will give statistical advice to health
professionals and researchers and you provide statistical support to a
variety of medically related studies from within the Netherlands
Cancer Institute and from elsewhere. The department has collaborations
with many other (academic) hospitals, research groups and the
pharmaceutical industry.
Within the Biometrics department, you will work in a team with four
other statisticians (including the head of the department). In
particular you will have the opportunity to collaborate with the
Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer (ITCC) Consortium, which
will take approximately 50% of your time.
Your profile:
-- MSc or PhD in biostatistics, statistics, mathematics, econometrics
or related discipline or equivalent qualification;
-- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate statistical
problems with non-statistical collaborators;
-- Experience as a statistician in clinical development and clinical
trials is an advantage;
-- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality;
-- Organizational skills to work toward and meet deadlines;
-- Strong knowledge of statistical tools such as SAS or R; experience
with LaTeX is an advantage;
-- Knowledge of relevant standards (CDISC -SDTM and -ADaM) and
regulatory guidelines (e.g. ICH, FDA, and CHMP) would be an
advantage;
-- Excellent written and spoken English;
-- Willing to travel abroad occasionally.

salary will be according scale FWG 60 of the collective labor
agreement for Dutch hospitals (CAO Ziekenhuizen) and can range between
