Hi Elaine,
We use the Roche Inform II meters. They have a touch screen, and as long as you don't throw them around and smash the screen, they are pretty robust devices. They have one on/off button but that is all, everything is via the screen. Keeping the device clean is also simple. We use Clinell wipes and we have to decontaminate - we use a cloth wrung out on Actichlor.
There doesn't seem to be any issues I can think of.
Hope this helps.
Best Wishes,

Subject: Glucose measurements
Dear all,
I have been asked by our A&E department to source a method of glucose determination that would be suitable in a hyperbaric environment (see query below). Anyone any ideas?
Many thanks in advance, Elaine

I would appreciate any information that you may have access to regarding point of care blood glucose measurement devices which have been calibrated/tested/validated for use in an hyperbaric environment.
The concern with standard devices is the integrity of the LCD screens, the soft rubber buttons (which have small air pockets behind them) and the potential effects on the chemistry of the analysis.
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards
Roland
