Dear colleagues,
The New Zealand Ministry of Transport is currently seeking Strategy Directors for the latest projects in its Strategic Policy Programme. Having had the privilege myself of holding one of these roles (on part-time secondment) during 2014/15 I can highly recommend this opportunity.
Specifically the new projects are:
1. investigating the optimum future framework for transport regulation, and
2. exploring where new technologies and initiatives are likely to take us as a society and the implications for public transport.
In overview, the roles present the need and opportunity to:
- use your academic or research background to shape the future of NZ transport
- lead and support a project team by sharing your skills and experience
- engage with stakeholders to inform core questions and share research results
The Chief Executive of MoT comments as follows: "The Ministry of Transport's Strategic Policy Programme is transforming the way we perceive and address transport issues. At the head of these projects, Strategy Directors are our thought leaders, encouraging all our staff to shape a system that can more easily adjust to tomorrow's needs, and which will contribute to the Ministry's Greatest Imaginable Challenge of creating the environment to double the value from transport initiatives."
Further details can be found at http://www.transport.govt.nz/about/careers/
These are fixed-term opportunities and expressions of interest must be submitted by 5 June 2015.
Best wishes,
Glenn
