Subject Librarians: time for a fresh look? A morning/afternoon event specifically aimed at Subject Librarians/Information Managers/Academic Support Librarians and others who have a role with subject responsibilities.
Here at the University of Hertfordshire library we are planning to host an event to provide the opportunity for ‘subject librarians’ or equivalents to meet, share experience, expertise and discuss good practice.
The idea is that we’ll touch on information literacy and induction, but we would like to focus more on the breadth of the role also explore other areas such as collection management, negotiating skills, liaising with schools, embedding, working with students, career progression, our role in the employability agenda, measuring our impact and upskilling. We’re interested to hear from you if you are doing anything new, trying new approaches, have something to say or if you have other areas you wish to explore.
Please express your interest to me Lisa Flint ([log in to unmask]) by Friday 22nd May. Would you be interesting in presenting? Or facilitating a workshop or discussion? Showing a film? Or just attending?
If there is plenty of interest, we will then confirm dates and arrangements.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes,
Lisa
