This is a subset of QOF Dmentia - so I assume it will be the same Codes as
in the relevant year's QOF.
The clinical members of the GPES IAG have frequently asked for the Read
Codes - and been told that Codes might confuse the lay members (who had
little interest in Read/CTV3 Codes but would *not* have been confused)and it
wasn't necessary for the IAG to be able to see the Read Codes, as they were
decided by an expert clinical panel in the HSCIC: seeing the idea that it is
useful to look for the prevalence of dementia in the 0-29 age group came
from within HSCIC, I am slightly concerned about this attitude.
I assume that somewhere within HSCIC there has to be a specification of the
Read Codes - otherwise HSCIC would have to give the data specifications to
the system suppliers and leave them to decide on the Codes to include...

Thanks Mary. Interesting. Is there a specification of the actual Read codes
which are extracted for the purpose of this (and other) GPES searches
