> Lecturers’ duties include participating in the planning and development of teaching in Photography and in teaching and coordinating the courses in their areas of specialisation. Lecturers also take part in the guidance of students, in student selection processes and in administrative duties related to the study programme and/or the department.

> The lecturer is required to have at least a higher university degree, i.e. master level, and experience in teaching university level courses and their planning. Also artistic and/or scientific merits and good teaching skills are required.  Additionally specialization in some specialist area of photography is expected, for example, photographic technique, studio photography, portrait photography, the combination of photographs and moving image, photographic theory and research. Additional merits such as pedagogical education, active societal links and personal professional networks will be considered advantageous, as well as comprehensive language skills and evidence of teaching given in non-native languages.

> Language requirements

> 

> Two of the three lecturer positions subject to this notice require command of the Finnish language. All applicants must have good skills in English. Native Finnish citizens are also required to have at least satisfactory oral and written proficiency in Finnish and Swedish.

> Salary and working time

> Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities. Teaching personnel belong to the total working hours system, working 1600 hours annually.

The Departmental Committee will choose applicants to visit the Department of Media in order to give a teaching demonstration during early spring 2015. Chosen applicants will be interviewed by the Departmental Committee and assessed by external evaluators.
