Shifting the balance? Perspectives on the relationships between qualitative research and participation.
23rd April 2015, John Jarrold Suite, Sportspark, UEA, Norwich
This advanced symposium, organised by the UEA qualitative research forum, will aim to address two key questions in this area:
· What is participation in qualitative research?
· What kind of knowledge does participatory research produce?
The sessions will showcase and critically examine exemplars of participation in qualitative research projects undertaken at UEA and by other qualitative research groups in the East.

Project discussions
These will centre on projects that have either been completed or are ongoing. Presenters will provide an overview of their study and then attendees will discuss in small groups how they would incorporate participation. After a 15 minutes the presenter will 'reveal' how they did it and talk about the pros and cons of the approach they took
