Europeana currently has a few vacancies that may appeal to members on this list. All would be based in The Hague (which I can testify from my regular visits is a very nice city!) ...
Summaries below, or just skip to http://pro.europeana.eu/jobs
Web / Visual Designer
We are looking for a designer to work on the front end of our many websites, ensuring consistency throughout by owning, implementing and when necessary, extending the Europeana web style guide and brand guidelines. As our UI / Visual Designer, your work will be the most visible expression of what we do at Europeana Foundation. You will be someone who will work as happily in a code editor as inside Photoshop / Sketch / Illustrator to produce great visuals used across various mediums. While web comes first at Europeana, you will also be responsible for ensuring consistent application of the brand guidelines to print products and other collaterals.
Search Engineer
We're looking for a developer to work on the search engine that is at the core of our APIs and portal.
As our database of digitised cultural works and entities grow ever larger, richer and interconnected, you will take the lead in ensuring that our users can quickly and efficiently find what they are searching for and provide them with the options to further explore related content. As part of the Technology team, you will work closely with the Product Development and Research & Development teams to improve Europeana as a search engine for Europe's digitised culture.
User Experience Designer
Your title says UX Designer but you're as comfortable actively participating in stakeholder meetings and performing user research as you are in creating wireframes and prototypes in Axure / Balsamiq. You will be working on a broad range of tasks across multiple channels, including ideation, interaction design, prototyping, user research, analytics and content strategy. You will champion the user centered design process in the organisation and mentor your colleagues in this way of thinking and working. You will work closely with the Product owners in the Product Development team to produce welcoming and usable products.
Java Developer
Based at our beautiful office located on top of Central Station in The Hague, you will work on a wide variety of European projects together with a network of cultural institutions, research organizations and creative industries from all over Europe to provide new forms of access to culture.
