Dear Nick,
thank you so much for promoting Coding da Vinci. Being one of the organizers, although not the one who asked you, I would like to stress how much we welcome international participants. In fact, last year's darling, the famous "Cyberbeetle" (http://katihyyppa.com/cyberbeetle/) was created by a Finnish broter-sister-team.
So, hop into your planes and come over to Berlin!
We're contemplating the future of our "hack" event between ourselves. Our all-around feeling in the partner's network is that we need something more sustainable in the upcoming years. But, Coding da Vinci is definitely, totally and utterly 2015 ;-)
Best from Frankfurt,
Stephan

Dear colleagues,
A colleague of mine from Coding Da Vinci<http://codingdavinci.de/english-infos/> has asked me to flag up their forthcoming 10-week hackathon focused on creative uses of museum datasets.
The hackathon runs from the 25/26 April through to the 5th July. It is Berlin-based so may not be directly accessible to MCG members, but in case any of you is working with/interested in developing links in Germany it would be well worth a look.
If you don't know them, Coding Da Vinci is a network of German developers and programmers working with open cultural data. This is their 2nd hack event, and the first generated 17 applications from teams comprising 150 people. I'd be interested to know whether MCGer's think such a network would be viable/of use over here, or is the whole 'hack' think so 2014?
Very best,
Nick
