Hi, Matthew.
It turns out that running fc-cache does not permanently solve this problem. We continue to receive the segmentation fault error:
huntrh@labq25 [~/EST_FS_ATL_TEST] % fslview EST90421_00_MRI_20141031_s005_a001_MPRAGE*
huntrh@labq25 [~/EST_FS_ATL_TEST] % /panfs/roc/itascasoft/fsl/5.0.8-centos6_64/fsl/bin/fslview: line 6: 1053 Segmentation fault (core dumped) ${FSLDIR}/bin/fslview_bin $@
I don't know if the re-emergence of the error is somehow related to the .fontconfig folder created by fc-cache. However, re-running fc-cache just now seems to have (temporarily) solved the problem.
I've been following the extended conversation about this that you've been having with Jason Smith, and will continue to look there for a better fix.
Thanks,
Ruskin
