Hello to everyone in the Sociology of the Arts Study Group
I am introducing myself as I am currently working within the arts outside of an institution.  I am a self employed Social anthropologist with background education in the visual arts and psychology, you can see what I do on my website www.socialanthropologist.co.uk.  
I am currently following a major artistic project being led by an artistic team, The current project is entitled 'The City of Sculpture' whereby public art and access to art is being promoted in an area of the UK where the arts has never been a focus for the community there.  I am researching the impact of public art and observing how community engagement with artists has an effect upon a place.
