CURRENT ISSUE OF CULTURAL TRENDS: Britainšs leading journal devoted to the
critical analysis of developments in cultural policy, Cultural Trends, has
published a special edition ahead of the 2015 UK general election. It is
the first comprehensive, scholarly assessment of the culture and cultural
policies of the Coalition years. It includes contributions from 16
independent writers, thinkers and practitioners reflecting on lessons
learned from the Coalitionšs cultural policies, on opportunities missed,
and possibilities to be grasped by the next government. They address a
number of issues that shape cultural policy including art & design
education, archaeology, austerity, the drive to digital, the future of EU
and other forms of funding, support for UK film, innovation, museums,
heritage and the historic environment, the Coalitionšs record on theatre
and wellbeing - and more unusually, the case for beauty.
Contributors include: Eileen Adams, Kenneth Aitchison, Paul Allin, Adrian
