Still no luck, Michael. When I ran Troubleshooter, I got "DNS server
unavailable", so looks as if the problem is with my computer.
Maybe it approves of my attempts to locate the precise source of Victor
Hugo's Charivari of the Kingdom of Argot in _Notre Dame de Paris_ (probably
_Le jargon ou langage de l'argot reforme_, via a hint from Hugo's mate,
Eugene Vidoq) but resents any interest in Ashbery.
(I became recently [re]embroiled in Hugo and Argot via the quite
jaw-droppingly confused hash which Sturrock makes of this in his Penguin
translation -- drawlatches and robardsmen rubbing shoulders with Whipjacks
and Abraham Men in the streets of medieval Paris, yet, not to speak of
trulls, who have no apparent connection with either or any of the above.
Yikes!)
I'll try the URL on another computer, see if that works.
Thanks,
Robin
